The parking garage at my complex has 47 rules posted on one sign. I have read 12 of them.

ParkingRuleAgnosticSouth Endyesterday

The sign is laminated, approximately 18x24 inches, mounted at eye level on the concrete pillar at the garage entrance. It was clearly printed on a home printer, possibly multiple home printers over time based on the different font sizes across rules. I have photographed it.

The rules I can confirm I understand and follow: no idling, one-way traffic flow in sections A and C, reserved spots require a permit 7am-7pm weekdays. I follow these because I understand them.

The rules I have read but cannot fully explain: permits are not required after 7pm except on the third Monday of months ending in a consonant (I may be misremembering this one), "pull-through parking is prohibited except in designated pull-through zones" (there are no designated pull-through zones on the map), and one rule that appears to be in German.

There is a subsection about visitor parking that references "visitor registration kiosks" which do not exist in any form I have been able to locate in 10 months of residency.

I have asked the leasing office about the parking rules twice. Both times they said "just use your assigned spot and follow the signs." I take this as official guidance. I use my assigned spot. I do not know which rules apply to me. I have not been towed. Every time I park I feel the mild ambient anxiety of a person who knows they might be doing something wrong but cannot determine what.

My building's parking rules document is 7 pages long. There is a separate 3-page addendum for holiday parking. I've read both. I'm still not sure if I'm allowed to park in Section C on Saturdays.

I got a notice on my car for 'unauthorized pull-through parking.' I did not pull through. I pulled in forward. The notice did not include a definition of pull-through. I have not received a second notice. I have changed nothing.

The only parking garage rule that matters in practice: don't park in someone else's assigned spot. Everything else appears to be advisory.
